GUBERNATORIAL CANDIDATES POSITION ON EXPANDED GAMBLING
Email The Candidates And Let Them Know What You Think

Texas faces a possible $18 billion budget shortfall next year. That’s got lawmakers talking about expanding gambling in Texas and stopping the flow of money into the coffers of neighboring states with casinos, racinos and other gambling options. But the candidates for both of the two major political parties have said they are opposed to more gambling options in Texas.  Let them know where you stand on the issue by clicking on to their email below and sending a message to their campaign. Tell Rick Perry and Bill White why you want more gambling in Texas and make sure to explain that Texans have the right to decide for themselves.

An expansion of gambling in Texas would require a constitutional amendment and can only take effect if two-thirds of the House and Senate sign off and a majority of voters approve it in a statewide election. If that threshold can be met, the measure would bypass the governor. Both major party candidates for Texas governor have said they opposed legalizing more gambling in Texas. But you can let each of the candidate’s campaigns know where you stand on expanded gambling by emailing them and sounding off on your support for expanding gambling in Texas.
